German parts giant Schaeffler has announced that its first quarter revenue and net profit have declined over last year, industrial division sales fell significantly, while the Automotive division is still growing state. In the first quarter, the Schaeffler revenue fell 3.6% to 2.8 billion euros, of which Automotive division operating income reached nearly 20 billion euros, an improved 3%, while the industrial business unit revenues declined over the same period by 15% for 768 million euros. Automotive division first quarter EBIT reached € 277 million, an increase of 13.5%, EBIT margin of 12.6% from the same period last year rose to 13.9%; industrial division EBIT from the first quarter of last year € 157 million down to 78 million euros, EBIT margin of 17.3% from the same period last year fell to 10.2%. Schaeffler first quarter EBIT (EBIT) of 355 million euros, despite the same period last year 401 million euros fell by 11.5%, but still reached an EBIT margin of 12.9%; the company's first-quarter net profit reached € 233 million, up slightly by 0.9%.
